Finished goods inventory lower at bebe

bebe stores inc reported retail sales of $201.9 million for the fiscal quarter ended January 5, 2008, an increase of 3.0% compared to sales of $196.2 million for the fiscal quarter ended December 30, 2006.
Same store sales for the fiscal quarter ended January 5, 2008 decreased 7.9% compared to an increase of 5.5% in the prior year.
Retail sales for the year-to-date period ended January 5, 2008 were $360.4 million compared to $352.3 million for the year-to-date period ended December 30, 2006, an increase of 2.3%. Same store sales for the year-to-date period ending January 5, 2008 decreased 8.5% compared to an increase of 8.6% for the year-to-date period ending December 30, 2006.
As of January 5, 2008, average finished goods inventory per square foot was approximately 6% lower as compared to the prior year.
bebe stores inc will host a conference call on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. Pacific Time to discuss second quarter results.
