Italian garments craving for bigger market share

Italy is known as a fashion hub where trends are set for entire world to follow. The garments have a huge demand in international market and China is one such nation where Italian designs are gaining popularity.

The use of good material and exclusive designs has helped Italy achieve good reputation among Chinese buyers.

According to statistics, garment import to China rose from nearly US $138 to $201 in 2007, showing a year-on-year increase of 25 percent. Italian apparels total market share came to nearly 11 percent last year.

To make its position stronger in China, the country has decided to participate in various events and exhibitions which would take place in Beijing this month.

Italy will also showcase woven, knitted, leather and fur garments at Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics 2008, scheduled from March 27 to 29. The expo will feature some of the biggest textile suppliers from world over.

With so much participation and eagerness among Italian entrepreneurs, the country is expected to arrtact a lot of attention of Chinese consumers resulting in a bigger market share.
