The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. today announced it will consolidate the merchandise processing functions at its 175,000 square foot distribution center located in Green Bay, Wisconsin into its other distribution centers located in Whitehall, Pennsylvania; Fairborn, Ohio and Rockford, Illinois.

The consolidation of the operations will be effective May 2008 and be reported to the appropriate state and local officials to the extent required by the WARN Act. The consolidation will impact approximately 27 associates.

The affected associates will be provided an opportunity to consider available opportunities to transfer to nearby stores or receive career transition benefits, including severance according to established practices, and state employment service support. The costs associated with the consolidation of the distribution operations will not be material.

Bud Bergren, President and Chief Executive Office, commented, "The Company continually reviews the efficiency of its operations and, as a result, we decided to consolidate our distribution functions.

The remaining distribution centers have the capacity to support the stores in this geographic area as well as to expand their services to support future growth. The Green Bay Distribution Center associates have continually performed well and I would like to personally thank them for their contributions."
