While accelerating same-store sales growth profitably remains our no. 1 objective, we must look ahead to the future and prepare for longer-term initiatives such as international expansion. "At Macy's West, R.B. Harrison will be the operating principal at the newly expanded division spanning a broad geography in the American west with many opportunities to enhance our offering in each store through new initiatives for localization and tailoring merchandise assortments, as well as for improving the shopping experience," Kronick said.

"Given his previous assignments at divisions in Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland, R.B. has hands-on experience and keen insight into customers in markets that present considerable growth opportunities for Macy's West."
