It has been reported that starting from the May 9, the Inspection & Quarantine Bureau of Nantong City has started examining the formaldehyde content of the exported clothes, especially for children clothes and inner wears.
In recent years, a lot of Chinese clothes sent for exports, especially kidswear, were either recalled or returned because of high formaldehyde content which exceeded the normal standards set by the associated international organization.
The Inspection & Quarantine Bureau of Nantong City has therefore warned the local clothes export enterprises to have a stringent control over its purchase of the raw material. Besides, it has also asked them to perfect the quality and safety of the clothes according to the standards set by the importing countries.
