Lee Coopers to launch chain stores to expands its domain

Lee Cooper, a lifestyle denim brand that offers an entire range of casual wear apparels for men and women categories, yesterday announced that it would open 24 new outlet in India this year with the objective of securing a dominant position in the country.

Lee Cooper is a joint venture between Future Group and Lee Cooper International, and will bear an an expenditure of Rs200-300 million to inturn procure a turnover of Rs1,800-2,000 million from its operations in India in the next two years.

Ameet Panchal, Lee Cooper (India) CEO, told the media that in order to take firm roots in the country, the company has plans to extend its presence in northern region including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. "We have plans to open our stores, having a size of 1,200 to 2,000 square feet in Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Shimla," he informed.

Presently, the company has 31 stores across the country and is anticipating a growth between 80 to 100 percent during next two years. Last year, the company touched a turnover of close to Rs1000 million.

The company opened its first store in Chandigarh on May 23 and is optimistic about its successful operation since the city has emerged as a promising market as the aspiration and affluence level have grown substantially.
