Global Fashion to focus on new sourcing countries

At Global Fashion in July 2008 the percentage of exhibitors not originating from China will go up to 43 %. They will occupy half of the entire exhibition space and include the group participation from Bangladesh, which has increased to 35 firms now; they will travel to the fashion metropolis on the Rhine with the support of the Export Promotion Bureau Bangladesh.

Under the guidance of the Syrian European Business Centre eight Syrian enterprises will return to Global Fashion to follow on from their latest participation in July 2006. They offer high-quality women's and men's wear with attractive value for money plus short lead times and will exhibit at the new Global Exclusive segment.

Other highlights of the wide spectrum of international exhibitors are the exportversed women's fashion supplier Geentanjali and M.M. Exports, golfwear specialist Rajat Collections as well as swimwear and accessories producer Permeshwar from India.

The legwear segment is represented by gossamer tight and knitted sock manufacturer Danken from Taiwan as well as Atlas and Bogazici from Turkey offering socks for women, men and children alongside other companies from other countries.

Artwell Knitting with its high-quality cashmere pullovers and knit accessories, Hong Kong Knitters with T-shirts and other womenswear (both from Hong Kong), Snow Lotus, one of China's leading and export-experienced producers of knitted cashmere garments, and Conquest from Japan are just some of the protagonists in the knits/tubular knits fashion segment with international exposure.

People's Republic of China with ten organisations and associations For this Global Fashion China will be flying its flag with 10 joint stands.

Part of the exhibitors from different regions of the country selected by Chinese associations and organisations have used the European No. 1 event ever since its inception to consistently build and expand international business partnerships.

For Global Fashion in July 2008 the following associations and organisations have organised shared stands for their companies:

Seminar subject: volume and sourcing market in Europe:
The meeting point for visitors and exhibitors, for communication, information and relaxation will again be the Global Fashion Lounge located in the centre of Hall 4.

This will also be the venue for the high-calibre, free-admission programme of seminars for stakeholders from sourcing management in the apparel industry and volume retailers as well as for exhibitors interested in gathering well-researched information on the volume and sourcing market in Europe.

This will be the subject of the seminar by Hermann Fuchslocher consultancy from Gelsenkirchen. It will be held on Monday, 28 July 2008, from 4.30 to 5.30 pm. Hermann Fuchslocher will lecture on the “European Volume Market – New Entry Opportunities”.

Apparel suppliers wishing to export to this market will learn basic lessons about the buyers' wishes and requirements, European market conditions including all the merits and drawbacks and the basic requirements providers should fulfil. This seminar will be delivered in English with simultaneous interpretation into Chinese.

At the Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf approximately 1,750 exhibitors and collections from 44 nations will be presented at the exhibition halls at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre and at the Düsseldorf Fashion House 1 + 2.
