Booming innerwear industry uplifts Shandong

Shandong innerwear businesses are mainly concentrated in Qingdao and Jinan. According to official statistics, the Province has more than 300 knitting units, of which, 80 enterprises have an annual output over 3 million pieces, 16 boast output of 10 million pieces and 7 register an annual output exceeding 20 million pieces.
Annual knitting production of Shandong Province surpasses 10 billion pieces, and more than 70 percent are exported overseas. The Province flaunts large knitting capacity, numerous enterprises, strong capability in variety development, and superior product quality.
According to relevant survey of every 10 Japanese citizens, 4.9 wear knitted underwear made in Shandong.
Jifa Brand in Qingdao city has become the banner of underwear industry in Shandong, being the only one in the region to have won titles of 'China Famous Brand' and 'Famous Chinese Trademark'.
Lingerie enterprises in Shandong Province are more relied on exports and supplemented by domestic sales, basically of OEM production, with relatively low profits. As a result, this industry is held-back and at a lower level on international scale.
Thus, it is important for Shandong intimatewear industry to strengthen internal force by expanding domestic market and developing original designs.
