Apparels sector needs to be revitalized for growth in exports

There is not much progress visible in the upcoming field of technical textiles in Philippines. This category is a low volume and high margin business and as of yet is untapped in a majority of countries across the globe.
In today's times companies from the US and a few countries in the European Union have none other than the technical textiles category to thank, for enabling the sector to stand firmly on its feet.
The textile industry in Philippines has decades of solid experience behind it and it should not be difficult for it to start manufacturing of technical textiles in that country. The textile industry should seize this opportunity and make a foray in to the same.
The Philippine industry and the government should seriously think on the above solutions in the greater interests of the textile and garment sector at large.
