Export of apparel accessories escalates

According to official sources of Minister of Industry and Trade, apparel accessory exports turnover of the country touched US $500 million in first seven months of 2008, representing a year–on-year rise of 36.8 percent.
Local experts are of the opinion, apparel accessories exports enjoys an up trend despite down trend in worldwide economy.
In the current year, Made-in-Vietnam apparel accessories were largely consumed by the US. During the first half of on going year, Vietnam supplied products worth $111.7 million, giving rise by 13.3 percent on–year and registering 28 percent of total exports of Vietnam.
Other key export clients were Japan for $38.58 million, up by 21.3 percent and Canada with $13.2 million, up by 2.9 percent.
On the whole, demand for Vietnamese apparel accessory is growing through out the world.
