Ms Nirmala states, "In the co-operative fold 7657 weavers are producing silk sarees worth Rs55 million per month. In the private Master weavers, 12000 artists are engaged in the production of silk sarees worth Rs100 million every month."

Thus, experts believe, that this is one industry that will not be affected severely by the global financial crunch. Then again, future is uncertain.
