In the first week of December, export value of textile and garment products is estimated to have reached US $200 million, showing a surge of nearly $50 million over same period in November.
The US, one of the largest customer base, has consumed Vietnamese textile and garment products worth $95 million during this period. To EU, Japan and Taiwan, Vietnam exported products worth nearly $50 million, $22 million and $10 million respectively.
In the first week of December, starting from 1-7, the export value of elastic shirt topped the list by fetching $50 million from the export of 15 million units.
The export figures in terms of volume and value for other products are, trousers - 7 million and $35million; jacket - 2 million and $30 million; and shorts -2.7 million and $15 million.
The country earned $125 million worth foreign exchange by exporting shirts to various export destinations.
