According to Vietnamese General Department of Customs reports, exports of sweaters witnessed strong decline in the period from January to October; however traders anticipate the trend to take a U-turn and the graph will move upward.
The available statistics reveal that the country shipped around 934,000 pieces of sweaters in October worth US $5.7 million.
In these 10 months the export figures touched 10.3 million pieces, valued at $58.7 million, depicting a drop by 19.9 and 12.4 percent in terms of both volume and value in comparison to the similar period previous year.
In the mean time, local experts are of the opinion, the exports of sweater will acquire strong growth in the last two months of 2008 and in the first few months of next year as these are winter months with high demand in most of the markets.
