Re-launching of TailorByrd Brand with fall collection

TailorByrd, a fast-rising brand in men's shirts and sportswear, announced it has been purchased by founder Chris Crowley and his new partner, the well-known apparel executive Larry Stemerman. The company formed a strategic alliance with Shinyei to re-launch the brand and its new collection of men's shirts, which will be available in stores and online in Fall 2009.
“We've been talking to our retail partners these past few months and there's a common theme: 'customers want the original 'Byrd… copycat brands just don't measure up,'” said Crowley, CEO of TailorByrd. “TailorByrd earned a prime spot in men's closets by dressing them in fashionable, distinctive and really comfortable shirts. This fall, our customers can treat themselves to great shirts at a price point that will be highly appealing to them in this economy.”
Crowley's new partner and President of TailorByrd Sales and Marketing, Larry Stemerman, started People's Place with Tommy Hilfiger. He was recently president of Sweetface Fashions which he co-founded with Jennifer Lopez and Andy Hilfiger to launch the JLo brand.
“Keep your eye on TailorByrd,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “Larry and Chris have a solid formula: quality shirts -– with nice details and stylish touches -- at competitive prices.”
TailorByrd's Fall 2009 collection will focus on woven men's shirts, as will its Holiday and Resort collections this year. The company is developing new categories for its spring 2010 collection, including trousers, shorts, jackets and swimwear at competitive prices.
In addition, TailorByrd is in discussion with European and Asia Pacific distributors and retailers. It also is considering licensing some categories, said Crowley. TailorByrd will cap off the Spring selling season in Las Vegas Aug 31-Sep 2 and attend the interim regional shows.
TailorByrd's mission is simple: to dress its customers in high-quality, high-value shirts that look great and feel great –- at work or out on the town -- and to help them express themselves with stylish touches of color and material. To do that, TailorByrd combines London's Jermyn Street craftsmanship with fashion expertise from around the world and a profound understanding of what makes a remarkable men's shirt.
