The Honourable Minister must appreciate the fact that the apparel exporters are not looking for subsidy to make more profits but are looking at means to help them offset the burden of domestic disabilities which are making our products expensive by anything from 8 to 15 percent compared to our competing countries. The apparel exporters are only looking for support to sustain their businesses.

The Policy has so many focuses like focus product, market linked etc etc. It is suggested the Government must also introduce a policy where the focus is on the intensity of the organized labour employed by any manufacturer exporter exporting 100% of their manufactured product. This would serve the triple purpose of more organized labour, more exports and encourage the exporters who undertake this responsibility. This would be a win win situation for all. Such a policy could be for all sectors of export irrespective of the product.
