A new SHAPEWEAR project for a LA PERLA collection that enhances femininity of all women, interpreting the innovative LYCRA beauty fabric:The Science of Shaping.

Today shapewear underwear is one of the fast growing market segment that is and La Perla decided to make its debut in this sector with its exclusive ShapeCouture collection that interprets the new LYCRA beauty fabric dimension.

INVISTA, one of the largest producer of fibres solutions for textile applications, owner of the LYCRA fibre trade name, has developed the innovative LYCRA beauty fabric platform that, availing itself of an exclusive scientific method for measuring comfort level in fabrics and garments, allows the quality and performances of newly conceived fabrics for shapewear to be evaluated and certified.

For its ShapeCouture collection in addition to two types of elastic fabric produced by Brugnoli, My Fair and Fashinant both containing about 30% LYCRA fibre, La Perla chose the Piave style R618 tulle by Piave Maitex. Although these Brugnoli articles are lightweight fabrics, completely in keeping with the elegance of this collection, they still manage to develop a very high level of comfort and strength which puts them quite righly in the LYCRA beauty fabric Smoothing category as “Specialty” fabrics. The Piave style R618 tulle by Piave Maitex has also obtained the qualification as LYCRA beauty fabric Sculpt.

ShapeCouture is not just a collection but a new concept of underwear.
La Perla's creativity and know-how of the feminine body go way beyond the traditional interpretations of the shapewear world, proposing tailored creations where their modelling effect is made even more fascinating by the tailored cuts, tulle inserts with patterns of transparencies, raw hems and the refined openwork finishes.

In La Perla ShapeCouture collection, the secret is not just in the shaping effect but is also in the rich glamour style of each single item: the refined criss-cross designs that outline the sophisticated high-waist panty or the suspender belt corset, the “glimpse-but-not-see” effect on the sides of the full slip and the nude cuts on the bra neckline.

Three symbol colours have been chosen to underline this ultrafeminine style: sensual black, boiling hot red and sophisticated nude.

With the ShapeCouture project, La Perla enters the shapewear underwear world with its own distinct style and with the scientific support of the LYCRA beauty fabric platform as the guarantee of high quality. The result is excellent shaping performances enhanced by a sensual look inspired by the outfits of the great interpreters of neorealist cinema such as Silvana Mangano and Sofia Loren.
