UCSD Tritons to wear Arena's performance suits & gear

Arena USA is proud to announce a new partnership with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Men's and Women's Swimming teams. The Tritons will compete wearing the Arena Powerskin R-EVO and the Powerskin XP racing suits, and be outfitted with Arena team gear.
The Titans, a member of the Pacific Coast Swimming Conference, are coached by Scott McGihon. In his 11th year, McGihon has helped produce four Olympic Trials standards, nine individual NCAA national championships, and 57 individual All-Americans. On the woman's side McGihon has had six U.S. Nationals standards, 16 individual NCAA national champions, four relay NCAA champions, one Olympic Trials standard, 59 individual All-Americans, 21 relay All-Americans and six UCSD Athletes of the Year.
“Scott is a big reason UCSD has elevated its swimming and diving and we are excited to partner with a program that has a track record of winning,” said Bryan Smeltzer (VP of Marketing Arena USA.) “We are proud to welcome him and his swimmers to Arena and look forward to seeing his team compete in the upcoming swim season.”
Beginning this season, The Titan's will compete wearing Arena performance R-EVO and XP suits – the lightest and fastest racing swimsuits ever produced by Arena. This revolutionary new line is also worn by Arena's Elite team swimmers Rebecca Soni, Aaron Peirsol and Eric Shanteau, and has proven to be the fastest and the lightest racing swimsuit ever made with a 100% textile material.
“I have always recognized Arena to be a brand that symbolizes winning, performance and tradition,” said McGihon “We look forward to a successful year and record breaking season with our new performance Arena suits.”
The UCSD men's swim team has made 30 NCAA Appearances with 47 NCAA individual champions. The UCSD women's swim team has made 29 NCAA Appearances with 43 NCAA individual champions. In 2000 the UCSD swim team moved up to Division II. Since then, the men have placed 7th in the past three consecutive NCAA Championships while the women have placed 3rd for the seventh time in eight years.
