'Made Better' expresses the legacy of Landau Uniforms

Not all scrubs are created equal, according to executives at Landau Uniforms, the nation's leading quality health care apparel manufacturer. In fact, company officials are so certain of this quality claim they are launching a re-branding campaign to emphasize Landau as the standard-bearer in functional and fashionable scrubs.

The new brand position, "Landau. Made Better," was born from the fact that the third-generation family business has been committed for nearly 50 years to making the highest quality scrubs available – from fabric to finish.

"'Made Better' expresses the legacy of our company – that we stand behind every stitch of every garment we make," said Bruce Landau, president of Landau Uniforms. "Because Landau is a manufacturer and we own and operate our own manufacturing plant, we make our product from scratch. From detailing the fabric construction, to supervising the fabric dyeing, from engineering the garments design to inspecting each garments sewing, it's what we do at Landau, it's in our DNA," Landau said.

According to Mr. Landau, the dynamics of our industry are changing, with licensed brands, contract manufacturing, cheaper materials, cost-cutting processes and more aggressive marketing all contributing to creating a confusing marketplace: a marketplace overrun with labels which have no connection to healthcare apparel.

"Competitive factors underscore how important it is to tell the customer what Landau stands for," said Darryl Williams, vice president of sales and marketing.

Williams said "Made Better" is validated by five important characteristics, each of which is difficult to replicate by competitors:

• Better fabric: A Superior fabric construction that is rigorously tested to meet the company's high standards for strength, durability and comfort. When fabric falls short of the company's standards, it is discarded for use by other scrub manufacturers.
