Nine West acquiring womenswear marketer Kasper Group

US based footwear, accessories and denim company Nine West Holdings is acquiring Kasper Group, a marketer of suits, dresses and sportswear for women. Kasper Group clothing is sold under the flagship Kasper brand and other brand names and sells them through wholesale distribution channels, including specialty and department stores and mass merchandisers.
Nine West Holdings has used the net proceeds from the December 2016 sale of its Easy Spirit wholesale business to purchase Kasper Group, with the acquisition expected to close during January 2017.
"Kasper Group is a profitable wholesale business that we anticipate will make a positive impact on our financial performance,” Ralph Schipani, interim CEO at Nine West Holdings said. “The acquisition of Kasper's reputable branded apparel will enable Nine West Holdings to offer its customers an array of women's affordable, wear-to-work tailored clothing, footwear and accessories."
