Page Industries Ltd, the Indian exclusive licensee of Jockey International Inc. and Speedo International Limited reported a 16 per cent year over year hike in sales in the three months to June 30, 2015.

The company recorded sales of Rs. 438.28 crore for the first quarter of fiscal 2016, a rise of 16 per cent from the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

The net profit for the reporting period was Rs. 63.18 crores, a growth of 16 per cent from the fiscal ago quarter.

Page opened its 206th exclusive brand store in the quarter under review and has now 154 stores in high streets and 52 stores in the busiest shopping malls across metros, tier one, tier two and tier three cities.

The first quarter has taken the Speedo brand to 1060 plus stores including large format stores across 104 cities and 8 Speedo exclusive brand outlets located in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune.

Jockey products are also retailed through more than 35,000 retail stores in 1200 cities and towns across India.

Sunder Genomal, managing director at Page Industries said, “The first quarter of 2015-16 was unique and eventful as we launched our women's sleepwear range Relax this quarter.”

“Comfortable and stylish, these cotton modal blend pajamas trimmed with delicate feminine lace edging has already received a very positive response from all our loyal women customers,” he added.

“This is an exciting category that will further help establish the Jockey brand as a woman's brand as well,” Genomal informed.

During the quarter, the company also launched its 360 degree marketing campaign with print media and out of home media for womens sleepwear.

“Spectacular billboards with larger-than-life images in high streets and shopping malls across the country complemented the advertisements in leading publications, both English and vernacular,” Page too added.

Its 'Jockey or Nothing' brand campaign went on air with two commercials titled 'Move' and 'Love', with the digital medium adding to the impact.

“The 'best or nothing' philosophy of Jockey resonates with the youth and we believe our commercials will connect with the youth and inspire them to live by these emotions and aspirations,” Genomal noted.
