Lamoda, part of Global Fashion Group (GFG) and an online fashion and lifestyle platform in Russia and the CIS, has expanded its Lamoda Planet edit to customers in all of its operating countries, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. The Lamoda Planet edit was launched in Russia in November 2020. The company develops convenient and high-quality fashion.

The Lamoda Planet edit features products that meet the principles of sustainable development and responsible consumption by elevating eco-friendly, ethical, and charitable products. Lamoda is the first fashion e-commerce retailer in the CIS to have an edit of this nature and the initiative is the next stage in GFG’s mission to bring more sustainable fashion to customers in emerging markets, GFG said in a media statement.

Now, for a more seamless and convenient search for eco-friendly products, customers can choose the filter ‘I help the planet’ when shopping on the platform. In the first half of 2021, Lamoda customers bought goods from this section for more than one billion Russian Rubles. On average, every tenth Lamoda customer made a purchase from the Lamoda Planet assortment, and in Belarus, it was the every fifth customer.

The launch of the Lamoda Planet edit follows the publication of GFG’s People and Planet Positive Report earlier this year, which outlines the group’s sustainability strategy and targets. This includes launching sustainable edits which are now available across all of GFG’s operating regions. As part of GFG’s global People & Planet Positive agenda, Lamoda was the first among fashion companies in the region to complete an analysis of its carbon footprint, the results of which were published in the GFG Climate Report in May 2021. GFG achieved carbon neutrality across all of its operations which includes the use of 100 per cent green energy across all of its fulfilment centres and increasing the number of parcels delivered with zero emissions for the last mile.

The Lamoda Planet edit includes products in seven main categories. The recycling and innovation category includes products that consist of at least 50 per cent recycled, recycled and innovative eco-friendly materials. The eco-friendly category consists of clothing made of organic and natural fabrics with ECOCERT, ICEA, BDIH, Nature, and other certificates.

The animal friendly category includes products made using non-animal alternative materials, or methods associated with good animal welfare. The vegan category includes products that are suitable for vegetarians. Saving the planet category includes products from responsible brands that have implemented the principles of sustainable development in their production by reducing the consumption of water, electricity, and their carbon footprint. The fashion without borders category includes fashion like underwear for women who have overcome breast cancer, or clothing with prints in Braille. The I want to help category consists of products from reliable, charitable foundations that make a profit by selling their merchandise on Lamoda.
