Close to 50 women will be trained over a period of 15 days and the centre will provide employment to 200 women who can earn anywhere between Rs 400 and Rs 500 per day by manufacturing 30 garments.
The centre was inaugurated by KT Rama Rao, minister of handlooms and textiles, Telangana. He said that the government has also planned to set up an apparel park at Sircilla by investing Rs 30 crore with a view to increase employment opportunities for local people.
The minister also said that Rs 1,283 crore has been allocated by the government for textile and handlooms sector in this year's budget.
More such training and production centres will be established by allocating funds for it in the budget and giving more subsidies. (KD)
