Turkish company Yesim Textile will employ 5,000 people at its production plant planned in Agri, the capital of Agri Province in the eastern part of the country. This is part of the company’s efforts to contribute to the economic development of the region. The groundbreaking ceremony of the 44,000-square-meter ready-to-wear facility was held recently.

The plant will be part of the Agri Textile City Project, according to a press release from the company.

The ceremony was attended by interior minister Süleyman Soylu and company chief executive officer Senol Sankaya.

Sportswear company Nike will also set up a factory in the same province, offering employment to 5,000, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had announced last month at a election campaign rally. (DS)
