Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently said the state will stop handling cotton production for the next three years. The production will be handed over to clusters for generating profit, Mirziyoyev said during a visit to the Khorezm region in November end. He had convened a meeting in September to accelerate clusters in cotton and textile sectors.
More than half of the districts growing cotton have been integrated into the cluster system, according to a news agency. (DS)
