During the first quarter this year, Vietnam's footwear exports turnover reached about US $816 million, up 23.1 percent over same period last year despite critical impacts of the EC's anti-dumping lawsuit, Vietnam leather and footwear association - Lefaso announced.
Achieving such excellent performance is largely due to the enterprises' timely application of reasonable measures against EC's duty of EC, such as exporting non-leather capped shoes and products out of the duty tariff to EU, explained Lefaso.
In addition, Vietnam footwear enterprises now focus on accelerating export to the emerging markets like the US and Japan, as well as approaching new potential markets, such as Middle East and Africa.
