High inflation compels workers to call on strike

Epic Designers Vietnam subsidy of Hong Kong based Epic Designers Group, had faced strike of 1,000 workers during last week. Due to high inflation rate in the country, workers have demanded for increase in basic salary.
According to sources, the labourers have demanded a rise of VND 200,000 to their basic salary other than VND 75,000 rise offered by the company. Government and Trade Union met with the company leaders for sorting out the issue, but the outcome was not fruitful.
Epic Designers Vietnam produces garment products for many world famous brands like JC Penney, Sears, Wal-Mart, and Phillips – Van Heusen, Kohl's, Jones and others.
