Leather industry to flaunt products in Istanbul Fair

Nov '09
The seventh Leather Fair will open at the TÜYAP Fair, Congress and Convention Center in Beylikdüzü, on November 12. The Turkish leather industry will once again show off its latest designs in the fair that will end on November 14.

Around 150 companies will take part in the fair including manufacturers of classic and small leather goods, handbags and briefcases, fashion handbags, footwear, travel wear, leather garments, fashion accessories and lifestyle products.

The companies will showcase their extensive range of products to attract the visitors with their innovative design ideas and information on upcoming color and material trends.

The leather industry aims at maintaining its positive outlook through this fair, as it has been witnessing crisis, said the Chairman of Turkey's Leather Manufacturers' Association, Mr. Ramazan Hazar.

Though Turkey Leather Industry is recognized for the quality of its products, it is lacking in terms of design, he added. Keeping the focus on design enrichment, the industry now wishes to sell its products throughout the year by changing people's outlook of “leather is winter-wear”.
