Flipkart and the Assam state industries department will soon sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to offer local artisans, jewellery makers, small tea growers and organic cultivators an online marketing platform. Akash Misra, Flipkart’s director of government relations (east), discussed the issue recently in Guwahati with KK Dwivedi, secretary in the state industries and commerce department.
The meeting decided that Flipkart would conduct training and workshops for such people, so that they can sell their products through Flipkart’s online store, media reports from the state said citing a statement from the industries department.
