The Flipkart Group recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jharkhand government to bring on board its ‘Samarth’ e-commerce initiative the state’s artisans, weavers and craftsmen ahead of the famous Bamboo Artists Conclave on September 18-19. The initiative enables craftsmen from across India to set up an online business.

Products and handicrafts from Jharkraft and Khadi Jharkhand are already present on the platform. Several other Jharkhand-based non-governmental organisations and artisans will join the initiative in a few weeks, according to a Flipkart press release.

As part of the program, eligible entities and artisans will receive time-bound incubation support in the form of onboarding, cataloguing, account management, business insights, reduced commission (where eligible) and warehousing. (DS)
