International Fashion Week Dubai (IFWD), one of the biggest fashion shows in Dubai, has achieved a landmark feat with the introduction of NFTs. The move comes after the grand success of International Fashion Week Dubai, with plans to enter into e-commerce following the event’s first B2B session which was attended by buyers, investors and brands of IFWDS13.

“We are thankful to all the people who have made this event a grand success. This year, organising the International Fashion Week Dubai was tough, especially after the Russian- Ukrainian crisis. We got full support from IFWD, and all our team members and sponsors pulled together to make the event proceed smoothly. Today we can proudly say that the IFWD has grown into a phenomenon that has brought all the fashion lovers in the world together on one stage,” said Cheryle Dias, founder and managing director. “Season 13 of IFWD was spectacular and we are getting ready for season 14 of IFWD in November 2022.”

The fashion industry continues to evolve as brands create pieces to meet the needs of their customers. IFWD has stood out as one of the platforms to help fashion designers showcase their craft. The 2022 edition was even more spectacular, with organisers bringing the fast-emerging metaverse into the fray by introducing NFTs, the organiser said in a press release.

The event started with the exclusive opening gala dinner graced with the presence of royal families from various countries such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum and Sheikha Jawaher Khalifa Al Khalifa. IFWD Season 13 Fall/Winter 2022 featured regional and international designers worldwide. The 4-day event saw a plethora of fashionistas and influencers come together to celebrate the Fall/Winter 2022 collection in person at IFWD S13.

The designer collections at the event include Walid Ataullah (Lebanon), Juan Gerardo De Lascurain Gossler (Mexico), Khaleej Times, La Vitta Pre Te by Marxena (Poland), Galla Maison by Nicoletta Gall (Romania), Uzbekistan designers (Sawkele Boutique Atelye, Ideal, Indifri Couture), Hanayen Emirati Abaya, Huzior Galleria by Iwona Huzior (Poland), Butterfly Couture by Rashida Yamani (India), Marlu, Noza Nova by Paulina Lecka (Poland), FUSSÉT, Amstone Amber (Poland) and others.

Galeries Lafayette Paris, the event’s headline sponsor, has partnered with IFWD for two seasons in Dubai, which will also move to International Fashion Week Paris during IFWP in September 2022. Galeries Lafayette is a high-end French department store chain and the largest in Europe, housing over 3500 brands across multiple categories.

IFWD adds to the excitement by launching an e-commerce marketplace where brands and designers can profit from sales. The official B2B forum was also introduced to the event as a dedicated day, allowing all participating businesses to engage with genuine buyers, investors, and media. International Fashion and Excellence Awards were also presented to the 20 most influential designers during the show.
