Kaufmann's to celebrate grand opening of new store in Pennsylvania

Leading department store retailer Kaufmann's is proud to announce that on Thursday, July 14, 2005 is the Grand Opening of its new store at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills.

With the opening of this new store, Kaufmann's will have a total of eleven locations in the Pittsburgh area and a total of 56 stores in the Great Lakes region.

A benefit preview shopping day, supporting local charities will kick off the festivities on Tuesday, July 12th. The grand opening ceremony including the Kaufmann's "Baguettes," tap dancing shopping bags, will officially open the store on July 14 at 10 am.

Special events will be held throughout the week and will include a model search, fashion show, celebrity appearances, prize drawings, and activities for the whole family.

Said Kaufmann's Chief Executive Officer Tom Kingsbury, "They are truly pleased with the opportunity to serve our newest customers here in Frazer Township and the surrounding communities.

This fabulous new store reflects Kaufmann's fashion leadership and high quality customer service. Through the store's exterior and interior design, merchandise assortment, and our remarkable associates drawn for the community, we will be able to provide an outstanding shopping experience for our customers."

Kaufmann's new two-level, 165,000 square foot store will be supervised by General Manager Jennifer Andrzejewski and will employ 220 store associates.

Customers will enjoy a complete shopping experience with broad selections including Men's, Women's and Children's apparel, accessories, and cosmetics. The home store will include china, silver, gifts, housewares, linens, home textiles, furniture, area rugs and mattresses.

Kaufmann's, a division of The May Department Stores Company, has 56 stores located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, upstate New York and West Virginia. The store represents a multi-million dollar investment and features fine wood decor and trim blended with exciting mixtures of metal and color, specialty flooring, and the latest visual and display elements. A new concept in the Junior and Young Men's "Young Zone" will be a splash of vibrant backlit panels.
