PAF graduates showcase their collections at IFFTI finale

The mega fashion and education event IFFTI, hosted by Pearl Academy of Fashion, in Jaipur concluded with PAF graduates showcasing their collection to the international delegates including acclaimed international experts in fields across fashion and design.

In tune with the theme of the Conference 'Fashion Beyond Borders', the fresh graduates from the three Pearl Academy of Fashion campuses presented design collections using the new range of fabric by Birla Cellulose, portraying the cultural diversity of India for contemporary urban consumers from across the globe. The preview of the collection was appreciated by the Chief Guest, acclaimed Italian designer- Ms. Angela Missoni.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr AKG Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion commented, “The collections displayed today are a testament to the theme of the conference 'Fashion Beyond Borders'. Students have used innovative fabrics and transformed Indian aesthetics into exquisite global designs with western silhouettes.”

Mr Sharad Mehra, COO, Pearl Academy of Fashion, further added, “The purpose of organising IFFTI was to provide exposure for the students and other stakeholders in the fashion & design industry. Our efforts in providing industry and international exposure to PAF students have clearly reaped benefits, as is evident from their collections. The conference gave the students a chance to network and share ideas with design leaders from across the globe, in addition to showcasing their talent through various channels like the fashion show, display stalls, brainstorming sessions and discussions.”

The fashion show was spearheaded by PAF faculty Seema Mahajan and Cora Gotemann who mentored the students towards the theme of the conference along with picking fabrics for the collections, choreographing the ramp event and short-listing the final collections. The collections range from avant- garde to mass market products with a strong fashion quotient in terms of silhouette, cut, smart detailing and professional workmanship.

Birla is a global leader in manufacturing man- made viscose fibres such as Spun- Dyed Viscose, Modal and Excel with specific properties like high absorbency, softness, eco- friendliness, luxurious and beautiful hand touch and excellent colour fastness.

The event concluded with a contemporary dance performance by PAF Delhi students.
