The doors to CPM – Collection Première Moscow will swing open two weeks from now in the backdrop of a tense political situation and economic sanctions, which has made the industry, a bit nervous.

However, the show has witnessed good bookings from German fashion labels like Alberto, Bugatti, Daniel Hechter, Falke, Lagerfeld, Rich & Royal, Steilmann and Wellensteyn.

The Italians are represented by Meucci, Gran Sasso, Twin Set, Laura Biagiotti Dolls and Silvian Heach Kids. Spain and Turkey will present collections from S/S 2015 season from Alba Conde, Gloria Estellés, Mayoral • Gizia, Hamet Sayki, Kigili and Formenti.

Exhibitors from France will include Empreinte, Petit Bateau, Geographical Norway and Bel Air. Among Russian exhibitors will be Burvin, Troy, Samos, Sudar and Devur.

CPM Project Director Christian Kasch says, “We are currently seeing a decline in space bookings of 15%, but we’re nevertheless satisfied with this development because of the difficult circumstances.”

He adds, “In difficult times, a platform like CPM is more important than ever. Many Russian buyers haven’t had a chance to travel to Europe because of visa requirements, so they’re certain to come to Moscow to visit CPM”.

South Korean designers Sujin Kim, Jaewoo Kim and Heezin Jung will celebrate their CPM debut with a fashion show. The famous Russian TV presenter Avrora, who will also be among the exhibitors for the first time with her collection “SISTERconcept”, will kick off this edition’s approximately 40 catwalk shows.

Other highlights include, the Grand Défilé staged by the Russian magazine Lingerie, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The show “Blue light”, organised by Intimoda by Intimagroup from Italy, will take place for the second time, again right before the Body&Beach Get-Together.

The event will also see the world premiere of the label Mila Bloom by two German-Russian designers who consider CPM, as the springboard for entry into the Eastern European market.

The Russian Fashion Retail Forum will take place on the first day of the trade fair for the first time. The seminar will generate stimulating ideas and promote an in-depth dialogue on topics such as “Ways to incorporate trends in the latest collection” and “Effective sales campaigns”. The series will continue on the second day with the Russian Lingerie Market Forum.

Illustrious names like Alexander Arngoldt, Md Makhmudov Djemal, Kalle Ht, Nastasia Kirichenko and Yanina Vekhteva will once again grace the Designerpool project, the sponsorship programme for young designers.

Nataliya Timakova won first place in a t-shirt design competition by Igedo Company, the organiser of CPM. She will be outfitting all the hostesses at CPM, as a reward.

CPM – Collection Première Moscow will take place at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow from September 3 to 6, 2014, and will showcase around 1,400 collections from 33 countries.
