9M revenue at luxury goods marketer LVMH up 4%

In the first nine months of 2016, revenue at French marketer of luxury and premium fashion goods LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton went up 4 per cent over the same period of 2015 to reach €26.3 billion. Sales were driven by growth in Japan and the US, but a decline in France. However, organic revenue increased higher at 5 per cent from a year ago period.

The Fashion & Leather business group posted organic sales growth of 2 per cent year over year in the period under review, driven by acceleration in the third quarter. In the same period, the group announced the sale of the Donna Karan business.

The LVMH Fashion and Leather goods division includes brands like Louis Vuitton, Céline, Loewe, Kenzo, Givenchy, Thomas Pink, Fendi, Emilio Pucci, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs, Berluti, Nicholas Kirkwood and Loro Piana. (AR)
