Christopher Bailey named president at Burberry

Christopher Bailey has been named as president and chief creative officer at luxury fashion brand Burberry and will oversee all elements of brand and design, reporting to CEO Marco Gobbetti.
Additionally, Julie Brown has been appointed to the new role of chief operating & financial officer and she too will be reporting to Marco Gobbetti.
The appointments are one of a series of changes to the Burberry senior team and forms part of the business review that is targeting future growth opportunities.
Julie Brown, who is currently the CFO at Smith and Nephew plc, will join Burberry in early 2017 and will be responsible for finance, investor relations, IT, global business services and business transformation.
Christopher Bailey said, “I am very pleased to be announcing the appointment of Julie Brown as chief operating and financial officer.”
“This is an important new role combining a number of functions together with oversight of our ways of working efficiencies,” he added. (AR)
