Sonali Viral Desai and her daughter Jeeya Desai have launched their first ‘The Fashion with a Cause’ brands ‘Caressa’ and ‘Jianna’. The designers and the brands were introduced to the fashion community at the ‘Colour Power 2018’—the grand and magnificent annual show organised by the National Institute of Interior and Fashion Design (NIIFD) in Mumbai.

The two brands have pledged to support Hearts@work, the NGO behind many record breaking Cancer Checkup Camps and ‘Clean India–Green India’ tree plantation drives. A certain percentage from the sales of Caressa and Jianna will directly go to Hearts@work foundation, on the lines of a few international companies supporting the Social Responsibilities and Community Welfare causes in this distinctive way.

The mother and daughter duo were inspired by Zenitex CEO Viral Desai who believes in the philosophy that “A business that makes nothing but money is poor business.”

The show saw a 12-year-old girl walking the ramp as a showstopper and launching her family brands Caressa and Jianna.

Jeeya’s father Viral Desai was honoured and invited to the show as a guest of honour along with personalities like Vikram Phadnis, fashion designer Archana Kochhar, fashion diva Meher Castelino, SDC EC UK director Yogesh Gaikwad and Dr. Anjani Prasad from Archroma.

Viral Desai is a well-known figure in and national and international circles with an array of national and international awards and achievements to his name. (RKS)
