FIT to host Cross-Pollination: Fashion & Technology show

FIT School of Graduate Studies and The Museum at FIT will host a symposium titled Cross-Pollination: Fashion and Technology at the Fashion Institute of Technology on Thursday, April 25, 2012.

Fashion insiders and scholars will explore the links between fashion and technology from multiple perspectives at a symposium titled

Speakers will examine the convergence of fashion, design, science, and technology, covering such topics as the future of bio-based materials in fashion, the development of fashionable wearables, and the innovative potential of collaborations between creative artists and technical specialists.

Presented by the FIT School of Graduate Studies and The Museum at FIT, and supported in part by the FIT Student-Faculty Corporation.

Participants and topics include:

-Bradley Quinn, a fashion industry consultant and publisher, will give the keynote address, titled Fashion Futures. Quinn is the author of Techno Fashion, The Fashion of Architecture, UltraMaterials, Textile Designers at the Cutting Edge, Design Futures, Fashion Futures, and the forthcoming Textile Visionaries.

-Steve Zades, found and CEO, The Odyssey network

-Suzanne Lee, fashion designer and director, The BioCouture Research Project

-Sabine Seymour, CEO and chief creative Officer, Moondial
