Ikea launches India's first store in Hyderabad

Product profile: The store, with 950 workers and expecting close to 7 million visitors every year, exhibits 7,500 products including fully furnished rooms. The store features two full homes that reflect ‘Life at Home in Hyderabad’, besides different room sets like bedroom, kitchen, children’s room and living room. Product at Ikea will include textiles, rugs, colourful sheets and mattresses made with coconut fibre centre alongwith lighting, decoration, stationary and live plants. The store also showcases brand’s global classics like the Billy bookcase, Klippan sofa, Lack table and Poang armchair among others.

About the company: Ikea is a Sweden-based multinational group, that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories. It has been the world's largest furniture retailer since 2008. Ikea plans to open stores in 25 Indian cities in the next five years. The company is also looking to expand to cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Pune, Chennai, and Kolkata.  The Swedish retailer plans to come up with stores in other Indian metros like Mumbai, Gurugram and Bengaluru in 2019.
