Moda Biella enters Indian market with OCM

What: Moda Biella ventures in India with OCM. The brand was launched in Dubai earlier this month, in the presence of the crème-de-la-crème of the textile industry from PAN-India. 

Who: Moda Biella is an Italian luxury heritage fashion brand producing superfine exotic fibres and forays into the Indian market with India’s largest textile manufacturers-OCM.

Collection: The brand presents an array of fabrics in blends of cashmere, merino, silk and linen.

Bytes: Setting the premise for the launch, Vikram Mahaldar, MD & CEO of OCM talked about the market landscape and about the niche segment that luxury brands held. He explained why the group invested in an idea of bringing an Italian heritage brand to the Indian market and how the company plans to accomplish its strategic goals. He said, “Moda in Italian means fashion and Biella is the textile hub of Italy – hence the brand connotes fashion from Biella. The way the retailers have complimented the range has really boosted our confidence and we believe Moda Biella will be a strong brand to reckon with in the future.”

Malcolm Campbell, a European Advisor of the Moda Biella team, said “Moda Biella has the most beautiful cloths in the world that has been inspired by Italian design and quality; and created exclusively for the Indian market. Bringing a sartorial elegance that is second to none, we’re convinced that this range from today will keep growing and will become one of the most popular collections in the world.”
