Flipkart-owned Indian fashion e-tailer Myntra has announced the resignation of its chief executive officer (CEO) Ananth Narayanan, who, it said, stepped down to pursue external opportunities. Narayanan was also the CEO of sister fashion brand Jabong. Amar Nagaram has been appointed the new head and will report to Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy.

Indian media speculated that Narayanan would resign after Binny Bansal, the then CEO of Flipkart Group quit the company.

Nagaram recently shifted to Myntra from Flipkart, where he has been working for around seven years, according to Indian media reports.

"...(Nagaram) has played a pivotal role in making shopping accessible, delightful and affordable on every connected device. Most notably, he led the efforts on revisiting the boundaries of mobile web, making the experience on it as good as native," Myntra said in a statement. (DS)
