Net sales of 135,900 pieces were 25 percent below the previous week and 53 percent under the prior 4-week average.

Whole cattle hide sales of 134,700 pieces were mainly for South Korea (45,100 pieces) and China (32,200 pieces).

Net sales of 208,500 pieces for delivery in 2006 (which begins Jan. 1) were mainly for South Korea (92,300 pieces) and China (63,700 pieces).

Exports of 444,300 pieces were equal to the prior week and 2 percent above the previous 4-week average.

Whole cattle hide exports of 437,100 pieces were primarily for China (210,900 pieces) and South Korea (126,200 pieces).

Net sales of 5,700 wet blues were much below the week earlier and 67 percent under the prior 4-week average.

The primary buyers were Mexico (3,700 grain split) and South Korea (2,400 unsplit).

Net sales of 27,700 pieces for delivery in 2006 were mainly for Hong Kong (17,600 unsplit) and South Korea (8,700 unsplit).

Exports of 46,600 hides were 46 percent below the prior week and 47 percent under the previous 4-week average.

The major destinations were South Korea (11,700 unsplit), Italy (9,500 unsplit), Hong Kong (5,500 unsplit), and China (5,300 unsplit). Net sales reductions of splits totaling 307,100 pounds were much below the week earlier and the prior 4-week average.

Increases for Mexico (6,600 pounds) were more than offset by decreases for South Korea (270,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (25,600 pounds).

Net sales of 485,000 pounds for delivery in 2006 were for China (309,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (176,000 pounds). Exports of 1,775,700 pounds improved from the prior week's marketing-year low and the previous 4-week average.

The destinations were China (956,900 pounds), Hong Kong (731,000 pounds), and Italy (87,800 pounds).
