The Masquerade show for Dallas fashion community

This fall, Silk Threads presents its 2nd annual fashion event, “The Masquerade,” a theatrical runway exhibition created and produced by Ruby Bhandari and her design team, featuring up and coming designers Vanita Tahim and Sidra Zaidi.
The Silk Threads Team is striving to create an eclectic showcase of modern style and eastern design, with a theatrical interpretation. Every aspect of the show has been created with a dream-world-meets-reality concept – with a fusion overtone.
“The Masquerade is an opportunity to experience the electric energy of a major theatrical runway production, likes of which have not been seen in the Dallas fashion community” says Bhandari. “Not only does the show provide a great opportunity to view our team's creativity, but also affords a wonderful opportunity to help treatment of global pediatric cancer.”
Proceeds from The Masquerade will benefit The Indo-American Cancer Association (IACA), an organization of cancer specialists of Indian subcontinent heritage, with a mission to advance cancer care. Specifically, the funds raised through this event will be supporting the CanKids organization, supporting cure for pediatric cancer in India.
An exciting feature of this year's show is the launch of a new line, The SOCIAL List. The SOCIAL List captures the vibrancy of youth and merges it with the traditional fabrics and designs of the mystical Southeast Asia – resulting in garments which while reaffirming individuality, can be mixed and matched in pieces. This line has a men's collection as well, which is inspired by “The Nehru Jacket”, which was made popular by The Beatles in the sixties, and more recently by Giorgio Armani and Ermenegildo Zegna.
Silk Threads Designer Collection, founded by Ruby Bhandari, has been in business of providing exclusive custom designs, bridals, tunics and menswear for over twenty years. Silk Threads, and its lines, are retailed to customers in 35 States, and are available at over 400 upscale boutiques and studios in North America, Caribbean, and parts of Europe and Middle East.
