PBA to honor crème de la crème at 10th annual ABBIES

Beauty industry makers and distributors to salon and spa owners to trade publications, the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) will celebrate and honor the crème de la crème in marketing at the 10th annual ABBIES (America's Best Beauty Industry Efforts for Salons), which is America's best beauty industry efforts for salons on February 4, 2006 at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach, California.

“The ABBIES encourages innovation and creativity among those in the beauty business,” said Steve Sleeper, Executive Director – PBA. “In an industry committed to excellence, the ABBIES heightens the awareness of what it takes to be a leading professional beauty manufacturer, distributor or salon/spa owner.”

PBA has completely revamped the 10th annual ABBIES awards and celebration. “committee said axe the hotel ballroom, scrap the chicken dinner and kill the ho-hum,” reports John Heffner, PBA Governing Council Chair and head of the ABBIES Committee. “The ABBIES honors beauty's best, and the event should reflect that standard.”

This year's red carpet event takes place in a new venue—the Terrace Theatre—and promises to be an exquisite evening of cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and awards honoring beauty's most brilliant marketing ideas. In addition, the PBA will pay special tribute to three industry luminaries with the ABBIES Icon Awards.

ABBIES entries are judged on innovation, brand-building power and bottom-line results. Awards will be presented in 21 categories:
