For the 13th year, Perth Fashion Festival (PFF) witnessed a record attendance with thousands of local and national fashion followers visiting Western Australia's premier fashion event.

In a fitting end, last night's PFF close event featuring WA's rock 'n' roll fashion royalty, Wheels & Dollbaby was a sell out.

Attended by more than 1,200 guests, the high-glamour fashion parade held at His Majesty's Theatre saw 20 models including supermodel and PFF Face Nicole Trunfio and Wheels & Dollbaby muse Tiah Eckhardt showcase the label's latest collection, La Pin Up Deshabillable.

Paying homage to the label's rock 'n' roll origins, models walked to a live performance of eighties hits including Divinyls classics I Touch Myself, Boys In Town and Primal Scream's Get Your Rocks Off performed by Little Birdy's Katy Steele and band members Divinyls guitarist Mark McEntee, Kevin Reeves, Brad Campbell and Primal Scream drummer Paul Mulreany.

PFF Director, Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said this year's PFF captivated guests with a unique program of events and spectacular designer shows over seven fashion filled days.

“The increased interest in this year's Festival is evident by the number of influential national and international buyers, designers, models and fashion industry that attended. International guests including Mel B, Kee Hua Chee and PFF Face Nicole Trunfio also translated into more visits to our website and greater ticket sales.”

“The significant national and international media coverage that the Festival has attracted this year is also testament to its growing international profile.”

“This global focus on our Festival is fantastic news for Western Australia's creative talent and our amazing City. I cannot begin to express how proud I am of this year's Festival and feedback from guests and the general public suggests it was our best Festival yet,“ Ms Harvey-Hanrahan said.

More national and international stars than ever before were spotted front row at a host of designer shows and stylish Festival after-parties. Guests included PFF Face and supermodel Nicole Trunfio, former 'Spice Girl' Mel B, actor Grant Bowler, Little Birdy singer Katy Steele, New York Trump model scout Duane Gazi, acclaimed designer Kym Ellery, models Tiah Eckhart and Sonia Kukainis, bloggers Kee Hua Chee, Romy Frydman and Hayley Hughes and Fashion TV's Amber Renae. International media and buyers from Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand also lined the runways.

136 designers participated in the Festival, which featured seven stand-alone designer runway shows, three new-concept Designer Capsule shows, two impressive new venues and a mix of 40 fashion forward events around the City. A total of 200 models walked in PFF 2011 events.

This year's Fashion Paramount was at Hackett Hall at the Western Australian Museum. It hosted 11 runway shows including two national designers, Yeojin Bae and Magdalena Velevska.

Fashion Central, located at Perth's historic GPO Building, also hosted a number of fashion forward events including the popular International Model Search and Every Body Counts parade.

PFF is supported by the State Government through Eventscorp, the Department of Culture and the Arts and the City of Perth.
