The 40th Hong Kong Brands & Products Expo

The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA) held a media conference on 18 October to announce details of the 40th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo (HKBPE) is currently being held at the Victoria Park from 24 December 2005 to 8 January 2006.

The theme for this year's Expo is "A Ruby Expo of Brand Excellence".

To echo the theme, three pavilions namely the "Hong Kong Brands Square", "Global Brands Square" and "Food Plaza" will be set up to display a kaleidoscope of well established and newly emerged brands in approximately 650 booths.

Like previous expos, the 40th HKBPE aims at raising the standards and awareness of Hong Kong industrial products, promoting Hong Kong's industrial and commercial development, assisting Hong Kong manufacturers in exploring the overseas markets, as well as enhancing the co-operations between Hong Kong and overseas companies.

In association with the inauguration of the Hong Kong Brand Development Council, the first ever "Hong Kong Top Service Brand Awards" will be held concurrently with the "Hong Kong Top Brand Awards".

With an objective to create an ambience of brand-building and to promote greater understanding and confidence of local public and overseas buyers in Hong Kong brands, both Awards welcome visitors of HKPBE to vote for the top brands and service brands of the year.

Addressing the media conference, CMA President Dr Jose Yu said that HKBPE used to be held in mid December. However, since the 6th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization will be held between 13 December and 18 December in Hong Kong and the Victoria Park will be used as the activity area for the protestants, the 40th HKBPE will be staged from 24 December 2005 to 8 January 2006.
