Moreover, to spare time for set up and decorations, this year's Expo will commence on 24 December at 5 pm, and the opening ceremony will be held on 28 December at 6 pm.
The officiating guests for the opening ceremony will include Chief Executive Mr Donald Tsang and Director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR Mr Gao Siren.
Dr the Hon Lui Ming Wah, Chairman of CMA Exhibition Services Ltd, revealed that a series of programmes would be organized to celebrate the 40th HKBPE.
One of the programme highlights will be the "HKBPE Time Passage", which will exhibit precious photos, fair directories and souvenirs of past HKBPE, together with old and new industrial products borrowed from various companies and collectors to witness the brilliant years of HKBPE and the remarkable achievements of Hong Kong's industry.
Besides, CMA will jointly publish with Sing Tao Daily News a commemorative book namely "Brilliant Years of HKBPE".
The book will contain amusing anecdotes, profile interviews and feature articles on the past HKBPE and various manufacturing industries, reflecting the glorious history of Hong Kong's industry. The book will be on sale at the bookstores and HKBPE in December.
Dr. Lui continued to say that though the exhibition period of HKBPE will be shortened to 16 days, CMA would put in more resources, launch stronger promotional campaigns and organize more fabulous programmes so as to matchthe theme "A Ruby Expo of Brand Excellence".
