Fashion designer Esin Yilmaz considers herself an artist who has concern for culture. She tries to preserve the same through her art.
An ancient nymph statue recently unearthed in city of Allianoi, inspired her to introduce a new dress design, 'Su Perisi' (Water Nymph), on Tuesday in Izmir.
Yilmaz tried out her new dress on Siner Gönenç, a State Opera and Ballet performer who was disguised as a nymph. She was dressed up in chiffon cloth, acrylic dye, silk tulle, raffia and powder.
She designed 'Su Perisi' to create awareness about the ancient city of Allianoi which is about to be submerged by the waters of the Yortanli Dam.
