Nilofer Shahid to represent Pakistan at World Fashion Week

Lahore-based fashion designer Nilofer Shahid will represent Pakistan at the First Annual World Fashion Week (WFW) to be held in the city of New York in 2012.

The event will feature leading and upcoming fashion designers and professionals in the fashion industry, representing their nation of origin from the 5 continents, with the objective to positioning these artisans in the global market.

Through her various collections under the House of Meeras, Nilofer has attained for herself the title of the 'Runway Empress' of Pakistan. The House of Meeras, meaning heritage, is known for immortalizing the past through her classical outfits.

Nilofer is acclaimed as Pakistan's finest legacy to fashion, and she believes in manifestation of Allah's ubiquitous presence in the beautiful creations of Meeras. All her creations are a symbiosis between the past and the present.

Nilofer has the distinction of being exhibited in several countries of the world, including France, the UK, Switzerland, the US, India, and the countries of Middle East and Central Asia.

WFW serves as the global voice of Fashion, as “Olympic Style” platform for the national fashion industries around the world. As an internationally reaching event and network for trade and fashion professionals, the annual event provides a forum for worldwide exposure and recognition, with a major role in contributing to the harmonious growth and development of the global fashion industry.
