Joseph Altuzarra wins CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Prize

On January 26, “The Fashion Fund” will premiere exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus. The six-part original series, produced by Break Thru Films and directed by Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg, offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Fund and the lives of the ten finalists as they make their way through the competition.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund was established in 2003 to help emerging American design talent find continued success in the business of fashion. This year, 169 individual design businesses requested applications. From the 133 that were completed (a 50% increase over last year), the CVFF Selection Committee selected ten finalists, whose names were announced in July 2011. They were:

CREATURES OF THE WIND – Shane Gabier & Chris Peters
CUSHNIE ET OCHS – Michelle Ochs & Carly Cushnie

FENTON / FALLON – Dana Lorenz
OHNE TITEL – Alexa Adams & Flora Gill
PAMELA LOVE JEWELRY – Pamela Love
SUNO – Max Osterweis & Erin Beatty
“The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund continues to ensure that the next generation of American designers get the support that they need to grow and thrive,” said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. “Over the last eight years, the Fund has helped more than 75 designers succeed in an ever more competitive and more global business.”
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund also provides ongoing mentorship and support to all of the finalists through its Business Advisory Committee. The resource is for guidance and targeted feedback on these designers' future potential and growth in the business.
