HKFW & World Boutique promote new design concepts

Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter and World Boutique, Hong Kong, scheduled for 16 - 19 January 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, are ideal platforms to achieve these objectives as well as infiltrate the Chinese mainland market and other international markets.

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is organizing Hong Kong Fashion Week 2012.

Hong Kong is an incubator for fashion talent, nurturing designers such as Vivienne Tam and Barney Cheng go on to success in the international fashion arena.

This year, Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter and World Boutique, Hong Kong will introduce local designers such as Cecilia Yau, Hin Lee and Bendy Wong to international buyers. Established Hong Kong brands, too, such as Mastina and Modessa are well accepted internationally for their high quality and creativity.

The fairs demonstrate that clever design is flourishing in many local companies. Handsome Hero Holdings HK Limited is launching TATTOO brand, featuring T-shirts imprinted with tattoo art. The see-through fabric and the slim cut give the appearance of a real tattoo on the wearer's skin.

Gogowong Limited is introducing Tiamo brand jewellery. The jewellery is not only designed by Hong Kong designers, but also handmade in Hong Kong. The designs are funky and glamorous, with unique details, showing a high level of craftsmanship.

Apart from local fashion products, the fairs feature stunning shoes and accessories from Italy such as the Alberto Moreti Arfango, US's Ema Savahl womenswear and garments from Korea and France, as well as socks and stockings from Japan.

This year, Australian Wool Innovation Limited will also attend the event. Australian Wool Innovation owns The Woolmark Company and launches a Pull & Push Merino Knitwear Promotion Project, in which they work with 5 regional popular brands (Byford, Camela, Chicks, Crocodile and Woolstar) in promoting Merino knitwear, home textiles products in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, whilst working with 5 merino suppliers on product developments.

Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter and World Boutique, Hong Kong, held in tandem, are recognised as the source of creative designs and the launchpad of up-and-coming fashion stars.
